CozyCrimeReads.com is mostly ad-free, but is open to some advertising to cover the cost of operating the site.

Cozy mystery advertising opportunities are available on the Cozy Crime Reads website and in the Cozy Crime Reads Newsletter. Options are available to fit every need and budget. You can choose from short-term advertising, long-term advertising, and free cozy mystery book promotion.

Cozy Crime Reads is exclusively devoted to cozy mysteries. Site visitors and newsletter subscribers are cozy mystery writers and readers.

To be considered for an advertising spot, your book MUST be a cozy mystery. No thrillers, police procedurals, horror stories, or books with graphic violence, gruesome descriptions, explicit romance scenes, or non-cozy elements. Your book must have an attractive, professionally designed cover. Your book cannot be written by AI or have an AI cover.

If you want to advertise an event, product, or service, it must be cozy mystery related.

You can advertise on CozyCrimeReads.com in the following areas:

Reading Kits

CozyCrimeReads.com offers free online reading kits for cozy mystery readers. These kits were intitially created exclusively for Featured Cozy Mysteries, but this section of the site has been opened up to other authors.

Each cozy mystery reading kit focuses on a particular book and includes a range of bookish extras, such as reader questions, book club activities, an author interview, author website links, recipes, games, coloring pages, activities that take readers beyond the book, and image galleries with buy links that showcase all of the books written by a particular author. Cozy Crime Reads will create, host, and advertise a reading kit for your book for $75. That price includes creation of the reading kit and related graphics, placement of the kit on CozyCrimeReads.com in the Reading Kits section, and a spot in the Cozy Crime Reads Newsletter advertising the reading kit. Each reading kit features an image gallery of your books with buy links and can include up to five other items of your choice (for example: reader questions, book club activities, a book-inspired recipe, an author interview, and a beyond the book section). Additional items can be added a la carte for an extra charge.

Newsletter Advertising

The Cozy Crime Reads Newsletter is a free monthly newsletter sent to subscribers via email. The newsletter is sent on the third Tuesday of every month. Special editions of the newsletter are also sent several times per year around holidays (Halloween, Christmas, etc.). See an example newsletter.

Each newsletter contains a very limited amount of advertising. Some editions contain no advertising at all. In other words, advertising spots are extremely limited. To keep content fresh, you will not be able to advertise the same book in a 90-day period.

It costs $10 per spot to advertise in the newsletter. This covers the cost of graphic creation and the amount of time spent adding your listing to the newsletter. Advertising opportunities may be available in the following areas:

• Free Cozy Mystery Books: Free anthologies, full-length novels, novellas, and lengthy shorts or prequels. Your book should be free at the time the newsletter goes out (the third Tuesday of every month) and for at least four days afterward. The free book must be available through Amazon.com. Free books advertised in the newsletter will also be placed on the Free Books page on CozyCrimeReads.com for no extra charge.

• Cozy Mystery Deals: Deals on ebooks, print books, audiobooks, and book bundles. Your book should be deeply discounted to fit into this category. For example, an ebook should be $1.99 or less; an audiobook should be $5.99 or less. Your book must be on sale the day the newsletter is released (the third Tuesday of every month) and should remain on sale for at least five days.

• Cozies Coming Soon: Cozy mysteries releasing within one month. For example, if you want to advertise in the January newsletter, your book should be coming out in February. Books advertised in the coming soon section of the newsletter will also be placed on the Cozy Mysteries Coming Soon page on CozyCrimeReads.com for no extra charge.

• New Releases: Cozy Mysteries released within the last 30 days. Books advertised in the new release section of the newsletter will also be placed on the New Cozy Mystery Books page on CozyCrimeReads.com for no extra charge.

• Other: Cozy mystery events, products, and services may also be considered for advertising spots.

Note: If graphics are needed beyond your book cover, they will be created for you with your input. You can supply text-based descriptions for your book but they must be limited to two to three sentences and may be edited for length.

Free Cozy Mystery Book Promotion

Free cozy mystery advertising and book promotion opportunities are also available. CozyCrimeReads.com does not charge for featured cozy mystery spots, author interviews, recipes, book reviews, free book listings, or giveaways.

Featured Cozy Mystery

A new cozy mystery book is chosen to be the feature each month. You cannot pay to be the feature, but you can submit the title of your book for consideration through the cozy mystery recommendation form.

Cozy Mystery Author Interviews

CozyCrimeReads.com interviews 3-4 cozy mystery authors per month by invitation. Interviews are conducted via email. I ask all writers the same questions. You can take as long as you need to submit your responses. See author interviews.

Cozy Mystery Recipes

CozyCrimeReads.com publishes author-created recipes that have been included in cozy mystery books and recipes that have been inspired by cozy mysteries. The recipes must be created by the author and must be submitted by the author or publisher of the book. A limited number of recipes are accepted per month. You must provide a short paragraph describing the inspiration for the recipe, a list of ingredients, preparation instructions, and a high quality image of the finished dish. If you cannot provide an image, I may be able to take care of the image. See recipes from cozy mystery authors.

Cozy Mystery Book Reviews

Cozy Crime Reads accepts advanced reader copies and recent releases from authors and publishers for review consideration. Sending an ebook, audiobook, or physical book does not guarantee that the book will be reviewed. Unfortunately, there are only so many hours in a day, and not every book can be read and reviewed. However, every book that is received will be considered for review or recommendation on the website or promotion on the Cozy Crime Reads Instagram page.

Free Cozy Mystery Book Listings

Cozy Crime Reads frequently showcases free cozy mysteries, including anthologies, full-length novels, novellas, and lengthy shorts or prequels. Your book must be 100% free and available through Amazon, Book Funnel, or YouTube. A book cover image, a very short description of the book, and a link to download the book will be included on the Free Books Page on CozyCrimeReads.com while the book is free. The book may also be showcased in a Cozy Crime Reads Instagram Story or in the Cozy Crime Reads Newsletter if it is included on the Free Books Page.

Cozy Mystery Book Giveaways

Cozy Crime Reads sometimes hosts book giveaways on the website, in the newsletter, and on social media. If you are an author or publisher who would like to sponsor a book giveaway (digital or physical prizes), we can discuss the possible options. Here is an example of a sponsored book giveaway.

Advertising services must be paid for before the advertisement is created and placed. If your ad includes graphic creation, we can discuss what you would like to see in the graphic and I can send your a proof of the graphic before it is placed on the website or in the newsletter.

Payments are processed by Venmo or on SquareSpace through the Cozy Crime Reads website. I do not see or store your credit card or bank information. Accepted payment methods include:
